Contemporary Fiber Resin and Aluminum Artwork by Luis Mandiola – Abstract Sculpture 00079
$5,800
Contemporary artwork created in fiber resin and aluminum by Chilean artist Luis Mandiola Uribe, combining pigments, texture, and form in an abstract composition.
The sculptural work Contemporary Fiber Resin and Aluminum 00079 features a dark, stone-like central form resting on a flat square base entirely covered in an aluminum foil mosaic. The base is composed of small rectangular aluminum sheets arranged like bricks, whose surface shows the marks and variations inherent in manual application: nothing is perfectly flat, and imperfection is precisely its essence. From the center of this silver field, the surface sinks inward under the weight of the dark form, creating a dynamic of depression and emergence that gives the work its visual energy.
The dark central element has the quality of a found object: a stone, a fist, or a compressed geological form. Set against the reflective silver rim, it absorbs light instead of reflecting it, creating density at the heart of a luminous field. Mandiola’s works, made with fiber resin and aluminum, explore the intersection between industrial material and organic form, using the reflective properties of metal foil to create surfaces of unexpected warmth and complexity.
This work is part of a series of silver sculptures that dialogue with the body, the object, and the landscape through a coherent material language. A unique piece, handmade by Chilean artist Luis Mandiola.
