Luis Mandiola Uribe is a Chilean artist who has explored various forms of expression, such as sculpture, painting, and printmaking. He was born in Santiago in 1934 and showed an early interest in art. He studied at the School of Fine Arts at the University of Chile, where he learned from Jorge Caballero, a renowned painter and professor. He also joined Taller 99, an engraving workshop founded by Nemesio Antúnez.

 

Mandiola developed his skills in ceramics, which led him to experiment with volume and shape. He became a professor of ceramics and later of sculpture in the Department of Applied Arts of the Faculty of Fine Arts of the University of Chile.
